"The road never taken"

THE ROAD NEVER TRAVELED" 4' x 5' framed canvas painting. During this time of isolation I have been painting more than I have in a very long time. That's a good thing! A very good thing. The title of this recently finished painting has personal meaning to me. This is one of my first commissioned paintings ever. The canvas size of 4 feet by 5 feet is the largest painting I have ever completed. The more abstract approach was also an unknown approach to my more painterly/realistic style. This painting was a constant work in progress with numerous changes from shape placement, changes in colors and my ongoing personal struggle with abstractions. The final painting consists of many layers of paint over paint. Tonight was the big reveal and the client/dear friends reaction was awesome. They loved it! I thank them for both the commissioned work and the push I needed to try something out of my comfort zone.
